Roma coach Luciano Spalletti has slammed the Dutch over their treatment of midfielder Kevin Strootman.

Strootman remained a substitute for the entirety of Roma's 3-3 draw with Austria Vienna in the Europa League on Thursday, but Spalletti insists the midfielder was made to pay for Netherlands' “careless" use of him during the recent international break.

“Strootman was massacred by his national team," the Coach said after the game.

“The truth is that in Netherlands, they don't care about Roma."
