Roma coach Spalletti happy to see Mancini on scoresheet

Roma coach Luciano Spalletti was delighted to see underfire Amantino Mancini score in yesterday's 2-1 victory over Atalanta.

He said: "He did very well and we have always had faith in his quality. At times a player like him can go through periods where things don't go well, but he knows we believe in him. You could see in his eyes how much he wanted to be decisive and the goal was just a part of how he helped us win."

Francesco Totti was also on target after finally overcoming his long-term ankle injury.

"Francesco gave us a hand, but he could have done more," added Spalletti. "If a player scores twice and has five chances, then he hasn't done enough."
