Roma coach Luciano Spalletti was delighted with Saturday's Coppa Italia victory over Inter Milan.

"This success shows that the team are working in a certain way and that we have a great club behind us," he beamed. "We are professionals and we are moving forward with an important project, which will see us lift some silverware every so often.

"Inter and Roma are the two sides who have shown their value the most throughout the campaign and it was only right that they should contest this Final."

Spalletti added: "This is an very important achievement because it is as deserved as the Scudetto.

"It was a huge victory that was what we completely merited and it is an objective that so many others never reach."
