Roma coach Luciano Spalletti admits they're in talks to sign Barcelona defender Thomas Vermaelen.

Spalletti has already added Federico Fazio from Tottenham this week.

“Vermaelen is a player with experience and quality," Spalletti said of the player to reporters. “He can build the play from the back and has great character.

“These players are used to playing important European matches. The talks are advanced even though for now I cannot say that it is done."
