Roma coach Luciano Spalletti has accepted Christian Panucci's apology after their blow-up last month.
"He is a Roma player and we have to try to use what strengths we have, because in these cases Panucci or Spalletti are irrelevant, what counts is Roma," said Spalletti.
"Roma come first, so Panucci did what he had to do. He should have done it straight after the incident, or at most a couple of days afterwards. He had the opportunity to do so.
"We begin again from scratch, but with the same old rules - he is a player, I am the Coach and represent the club.
"Not having him in the Champions League list is disappointing for everyone, but in that case there was a deadline and we did not make a mistake. Our consciences are clear."
