Roma coach Claudio Ranieri wants a permanent deal for Inter Milan defender Nicolas Burdisso.

The Argentina international was influential in Roma's successful campaign last season.

Ranieri said: "For me, Burdisso is fundamental.

"I don't want to think about a Roma without him. I am convinced that the club will do everything to make him available to me."
