Roma coach Claudio Ranieri was pleased with Luca Toni's debut in their 1-0 win over Chievo.
Daniele De Rossi's header gave Roma a slender victory over Chievo despite a red card and missed penalty.
On Toni, Ranieri said: "I did expect him to be this good already, as he had trained well and gave us a big hand today. He had to do the work of two men and created plenty of chances, as well as the penalty.
"I left Toni on because he had fresh legs, while Mirko Vucinic had played two days ago. Maybe Vucinic would've given us more pace on the counter, but Toni guaranteed physicality and could hold up the ball."
