AS Roma coach Rudi Garcia has reaffirmed hopes of keeping Daniele de Rossi.

De Rossi dropped a big hint last week he was unhappy at Roma.

"I will work hard to keep De Rossi," said Garcia. "We will also have to work hard on the defensive side of the game.

"Last season Roma conceded far too many goals.

"[Former club] Lille have some great players, so hopefully I can try to take some with me.

"I am working with Sabatini - we want to improve the squad and retain our best players."
