Roma coach Di Francesco delighted with routine SPAL win

Roma coach Eusebio Di Francesco was satisfied with their 3-0 win over SPAL.

The victory was the perfect lead in for the Champions League first-leg clash with Liverpool.

SPAL had done so well in recent games and allowed very little, but we took the right approach and I really liked the way my lads interpreted the match," Di Francesco told Mediaset Premium.

“It takes a strong mentality to be focused on these games and isolate ourselves from what's coming up, but that is what allowed us this performance and victory.

Patrik Schick put himself at the disposal of the team, he has quality and I am glad he scored a goal, because that always boosts confidence for a striker. He needed that, as he'd been working well and you know forwards tend not to smile much when they don't score.

“I am glad we had so many chances to score, but we definitely have to convert more of them, especially at Anfield."
