AS Roma coach Aurelio Andreazzoli has played down Francesco Totti's clash with AC Milan defender Philippe Mexes.

AS Roma coach Aurelio Andreazzoli has played down Francesco Totti's clash with AC Milan defender Philippe Mexes.

During yesterday’s 0-0 draw, Totti followed in stoppages for lashing out an elbow on his former teammate Mexes.

“Totti is friends with Mexes, so I think he didn’t realise who it was behind him. He was dragged back two or three times and lost his cool.

“It was a shame to see Muntari sent off too, because it would’ve been better for all of us to play to our best. I wanted it to be a real test ahead of the Coppa Italia Final with Lazio.

“I didn’t see the incident with Kevin Constant, but my players told me it was a clear penalty. It was close to the goalline referee, so I expect he had a good view.”
