AS Roma football chiefs Claudio Fenucci and Walter Sabatini were locked in talks with Luis Enrique last night.
Enrique kicked off his Serie A coaching career with a home defeat to Cagliari yesterday, following on from their Europa League elimination.
But Corriere dello Sport says Fenucci and Sabatini assured the former Barcelona B coach that his job was safe and the board believed in what he was doing.
Roma owner Thomas Di Benedetto said at the final whistle: "No alarm, I saw progress and I hope that everyone's work soon will turn into positive results."
