AS Roma chief Francesco Totti has hit out at critics of sports director Monchi.
Monchi is being hammered after a difficult summer market for Roma, which has seen them lose the likes of Kevin Strootman (Marseille), Radja Nainggolan (Inter Milan) and Alisson Becker (Liverpool).
But Totti insists: "Monchi planned the transfer market in a certain way, sold great players and signed great players and young people who can do well, if you have 16 international players in a staff of 25 men it means that the team is good.
"Judging Monchi, saying that he is a b*****d, that he does not know how to do his job, that he was wrong, they are useless words."
Totti added: "The club and fans must be more united than ever, because only with as a unit can we progress."
