Roma chief Walter Sabatini is hoping their mauling in Barcelona will be a one-off.
Despite the 6-1 defeat, Roma can still progress from their Champions League goup with victory over BATE Borisov.
Sabatini said, "I exclude a negative backlash in the league. We've been through this and now we can and must remedy a very negative result like this without feeling sorry for ourselves.
"Today, we came up against an extraordinary team. It did not help knowing we were able to lose after realising the result for Borisov.
"No excuses, an ugly blow. We are sorry, but nothing more."
