Roma chief Sabatini defends Enrique after Udinese defeat

AS Roma sports chief Walter Sabatini has defended coach Luis Enrique after Friday night's defeat to Udinese.

The Giallorossi continue to be remarkably inconsistent this season and were beaten 2-0 at the Stadio Friuli.

"I am disappointed, as we expected more from this game. It would've been important in terms of giving consistency to our results," said the director of sport.

"It's true we have a young squad and at times we showed an inability to interpret the match.

"We also need a different spirit on the field, as without the right self-belief, you cannot beat a team like Udinese.

"In January we could make moves on the transfer market to make up for some of our short-comings.

"However, Luis Enrique is absolutely not in the balance. We have absolute faith in our Coach."
