Roma chief Walter Sabatini concedes they're in crisis after defeat to Atalanta.
The result came after their Champions League thrashing at Barcelona.
"It's a delicate moment, almost a dramatic situation," the director of sport told Roma TV.
“We already spoke between staff, club, team and Coach. We know that we have to clam up now, fight hard and accept the criticism that we deserve.
“We know it will be difficult to emerge from this situation, because after this performance our credit has precipitated.
“Today we cannot look for excuses, we must be responsible towards the people and the club. You emerge from these moments with reciprocal generosity and a superior effort to what we normally put in.
“The team put what was needed to win on to the field, albeit in a not very spectacular manner. In a moment like this we need to shelve the spectacular football and focus on results."
