Roma chief Mauro Baldissoni says they were unhappy sacking Rudi Garcia.

Luciano Spalletti kicked off his return with a 1-1 draw against Hellas Verona.

“The players have to take us back to the top," Baldissoni told Mediaset Premium.

“We had asked Garcia to coach the way he had done in the past. His Press conference before the Palermo game was down to stress.

“He had started the season with confidence and a competitive squad, but the results made difficulties clear and we decided to change.

“It is a defeat for the club to change Coach."
