Roma chief Bruno Conti blasted Christian Panucci over his strop yesterday.
Panucci refused to take his place on Roma's bench for their 3-0 victory over Napoli and spent the game in the stands.
"All players, not just Panucci, must respect the decisions made by the Coach," slammed the director.
"Today Panucci did not do a good thing in a very important game by refusing to sit on the bench. These are the choices the tactician makes and must be accepted. That's true for everyone."
The defender is already in a tense situation with the club due to his contract extension, which has not been agreed despite the fact his current deal expires in June.
"At this moment we all think that the player made an ugly gesture right before such a crucial match and in this way tried to distract the other lads.
"Now, with the club, we will take action and give him a talking to."
