Roma captain Totti: I want to play for Italy in South Africa

Roma captain Francesco Totti has declared he's ready to end his international exile. Totti has not worn the Azzurri jersey since the 2006 World Cup Final in Berlin, at first taking a year's Sabbatical to work through his injury worries, then opting to retire from international duty.

But now the Roma attacker has declared: "I will make the decision in April.

"If Lippi calls, I'm fit and the squad wants me, then I will go to the World Cup. I think the young players would be pleased to have me there.

"My rapport with Lippi goes beyond football. I will never forget what he did for me in Germany.

"He didn't know me personally, I had always been his 'enemy' on the field when he was at Juventus, but he waited for me and had faith. I really can never forget that."
