Totti's contract talks have dragged on for much of the year and he is still to put pen to paper.
In his column for Corriere dello Sport, Totti wrote: “Recently I have heard that many things have been said about my contract situation. I am referring to the arguments in Roman 'high society', during which people discuss the opportunity or apparent lack of opportunity in giving a certain kind of contract to me.
“I am not going to name names, but I can imagine that they are always the same people; those who come to me asking for photos, gadgets, signed shirts and soon after continue to bitch about me.
“I believe that I have demonstrated on the pitch down the years what I represent as a player.”
