Roma captain Francesco Totti insists he meant no offence in claims that Inter Milan 'stole' two Scudetti.

Totti is facing sanctions for his comments.

"My referral? That arrived in record time," he told Roma Channel. "I was only repeating a comment made by a monk, who spoke about Scudetti which had been stolen from Roma.

"I never said anything compromising. I just complimented Inter for winning everything last season.

"Of course, we know about the rivalry that exists between us and Inter. But I have a good rapport with the Nerazzurri players."
