Roma coach Luciano Spalletti has performed a U-turn over the playing future of Francesco Totti.

Last season, it appeared Spalletti appeared the biggest obstacle to Totti carrying on this term.

However, after the 39 year-old's matchwinning performance against Sampdoria, the coach has had a rethink.

" For me, he can also play another year," said Spalletti.

"For me, yes. Because I've never seen him train like now. He can also play more depending on what game it is. You can manage him and play him more because last year he showed he deserves to play more."
