Roma coach Claudio Ranieri has confirmed they want to buy a new striker in January.

Ranieri is in the market for a new forward and also insisted Daniele De Rossi, a target for Chelsea, would not be moving.

The Roma coach said: "We are looking for a striker. We're not going to take just anyone. We need certain characteristics so I'll try to tell the club.

"We hope to have De Rossi available for Basel and Lazio. His transfer? He will definitely stay."
