Roma announce appointment of coach Zeman

AS Roma have announced Zdenek Zeman as new coach.

The capital outfit have been in talks with the Prague-born tactician for the past week and a half and have now confirmed his widely-expected appointment from newly-promoted Pescara.

"Roma announces that it has signed with Zdenek Zeman an economic contract to become Head Coach of the first team," read a statement released on Monday afternoon through Roma's official website.

"The agreement, lasting two years, is effective from July 1, 2012 and expires on June 30, 2013, provides for the recognition of a wage in line with the benchmarks in the market.

"Mister Zeman will be supported for the duration of his office by assistant Coach Vincenzo Cangelosi, technical assistant Giacomo Modica and athletic trainer Roberto Ferola."
