AS Roma captain Francesco Totti has no regrets over his international retirement.
Totti is one of the few club symbols left and continues to play for his hometown club, even though he has retired from international duty.
"It's not the same thing. I grew up at Roma. It was my dream and my ambition to wear the jersey and the captain's armband. I won a Scudetto and several trophies with Roma and those are memories I will always keep.
"I decided to retire from the Italy side after winning the World Cup, because that was the ultimate achievement anyone could have for a nation."
