Roma 3-2 Bayern: Italians complete second-half fightback

ROME: AS Roma have completed a stunning second-half comeback to edge past German giants Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Bayern were 2-0 up at half-time after Mario Gomez's double within six minutes just after the half-hour mark but the home side hit back early in the second term through Marco Borriello.

It looked as though Bayern would take all three points back to Munich until Daniele De Rossi tapped home to equalize with nine minutes remaining before the home side were awarded a penalty which was converted by captain Francesco Totti with six minutes left to give Roma maximum points against the tide.

It was Bayern's first loss of the group stage as they stayed top of Group E as Roma kept clear of FC Basel in second ahead of the final matches in early December.
