Chris Rolfe will leave Chicago Fire to join Danish outfit AaB Aalborg.
The 26-year old forward has signed a pre-deal with the club and will complete a free transfer when the January transfer window opens.
The contract is believed to be for three years but terms are undisclosed.
"I'm very excited, as I think Aalborg is as well," Rolfe told Goal.com on Wednesday afternoon. "It's a new opportunity and something I've always wanted to do.
"I love Chicago, they've been great to me," he said. "The fans, especially, have been awesome. But with the way the contracts are in MLS, now was really the only time for me to make this jump."
Rolfe, a US international, joined the Fire senior squad in 2005 from the Chicago reserves team that plays in the USL Premier Development League.
