Rojas already looking to the future after starring for Wellington Phoenix

The father and temporary agent of Wellington Phoenix youngster Marco Rojas says that they are already looking towards the future despite the teenager making just seven A-League appearances.

In his first start for the Phoenix in the weekend's 4-0 demolition of the Newcastle Jets, Rojas netted his first senior goal whilst having a hand in two others, giving a taste of what he is capable of.

Roddy Rojas admits that although he just wants Marco to worry about his football, they are definitely considering options to further develop his game elsewhere.

"At the moment I'm just letting him concentrate on his football," Rojas Snr told The Dominion Post.

"We're in negotiations with the Phoenix, we are talking, but I just want him to focus on where he is at the moment, game to game.

"It's not so much the money, it's where can he improve his football. At the moment he's doing quite well with the Phoenix but at the end of the day it's about where can he improve, that's the main thing.

"I think he's got a massive future ahead of him, as long as he goes down the right track.

"We've got to look at that and there is loyalty (with the Phoenix). But we've also got to look at his football improvement. He's doing quite well with the Phoenix, but we just don't know."
