Manchester City midfielder Jack Rodwell insists morale is strong, despite claims of crisis talks after defeat at Southampton.

There were reports of disquiet in the camp after the Saints loss but Rodwell insists that is not the case and that last season's dramatic title triumph will keep them believing until the end.

He said: "Obviously we were very disappointed after the defeat, but it was a disappointment with ourselves, at the performance we put in, more than anything else.

"Since then we have worked really hard in training, both us and the manager, and we turned it around. Now hopefully we can do that again.

"There are 12 games left and last season we caught up eight points with six games to go, so nothing is impossible."
