Jack Rodwell says there's still plenty to play for at Everton this season.
A gap has opened behind the top five and Rodwell insists everything is still to play for.
"Sunderland is a massive game for us," he told evertonfc.com. "All the league games are massive now. We need to pick up as many points as we can - especially at home - so Sunderland is huge.
"There was never any chance of us writing the season off, there is still so much to play for.
"We are still in the cup, and if we had beaten Bolton last week we would have gone eighth and been just outside the European places - we will do our best now to make the season the best we can.
"The league is still tight and in and around our position there are teams who are on similar points. The places are there for the taking and we need to make sure we get wins now.
"We are not putting targets or a number on where we want to finish. We are obviously looking at the top half but we are Everton Football Club and we need to be higher than that. We will do out best, we are still in the FA Cup and we are still fighting for a good end to the season."
