Manchester City midfielder Jack Rodwell is targeting an England recall.
Rodwell, 22, has been dogged by hamstring injuries since his £12 million move from Everton in August 2012 and has made only seven starts, although he did finish a frustrating season on a high by playing for England in their friendly with Brazil in Rio de Janeiro in June.
"I'm taking it a step at a time," he said.
"I'm happy England have qualified and I've got my eye on the World Cup in Brazil, but one step at a time. I'm just hoping I get in the City team soon and keep playing."
