Rodwell determined to make impression at Man City next season

Manchester City midfielder Jack Rodwell believes a summer break and new manager will reinvigorate the squad after a disappointing season. Rodwell, who scored his first goals for the club in their 3-2 defeat by Norwich on the final day of the season on Sunday, said, "The lads are disappointed with the result be we are all focused now for next season.

"Next season will be a big season for us and there will be a few changes.

"We'll see what happens. We'll be refreshed, have a good holiday and come back flying."

Rodwell told City TV: "It's a little bit bittersweet. The result wasn't what we wanted, we wanted to finish the season on a high.

"On a personal note, it was good to get on the scoresheet. I've been unlucky in the last few games not to.

"Luckily they managed to go in and hopefully next season there'll be a few more.

"I've missed a lot of games this season. It's hard for me to come back and just feel 100%. I feel like I need games, back-to-back games. I'm sure that'll bring the best out of me."
