Chelsea attacker Salomon Kalou could be Brendan Rodgers' first signing as new Liverpool manager.

The Daily Star says Kalou is set to become Rodgers' first summer signing.

The Ivory Coast international is out of contract at Chelsea and his agent has confirmed that the striker would be interested in a move to Anfield.

Liverpool are likely to face competition from Newcastle and Schalke for the 26-year-old.

But Rodgers' will hope his links with Kalou from his time as a coach at Chelsea will help him tempt the player to Merseyside.
