Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers may play Danny Sturridge against FA Cup opponents Mansfield Town.
The Kop boss will make changes for tomorrow’s tie but he is determined to avoid the biggest upset in Liverpool’s history, so only a major change of heart will see new-boy Sturridge start.
Rodgers insisted: “We have prepared exactly the same for Mansfield as we would for Manchester United.
“You can’t under-prepare because that’s when it can shoot you in the foot.
“Our homework has been full so we don’t under-estimate them. We just have to make sure our approach and mentality are right and if so, hope your quality comes through.
“We will assess Daniel over the next couple of days.
“He’s looked good in the couple of sessions we’ve had but I’m not looking to rush him.
“He isn’t under big pressure to come in straight away and perform because of the level of the team at the moment.”
