Rodgers: Don't blame Moyes! Liverpool also outperformed Man Utd last season

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers says they're far superior to today's opponents Manchester United.

Rodgers says the decline at United started BEFORE David Moyes' arrival.

"I think if you look at the last 38 games, from the last 10 games of last season to the 28 we've played this year, which would be a full season's worth of games, we'd be 12 points ahead of United.

"We're plus-91 goals as opposed to 64. Not that I've checked," he told the Mail on Sunday.

"Listen, the players are clever enough to understand the talents of Van Persie, Rooney, Mata, those types. They still have world-class talent. They are the champions and until they relinquish that, we go as a team that have been consistently improving. They will see themselves as the favourites, they are at home, they want to win."
