Rocker Rod Stewart has urged Celtic fans to get behind next week's legends match at Celtic Park. The singing superstar spoke just prior to going onstage for a concert in Canada about the Tuesday, August 9 match between a Celtic All-Star XI and a Manchester United All-Star XI which will raise money for Oxfam.
Stewart spoke exclusively for Celtic's Facebook page of the importance of fans showing up for the event, which again is a great cause supported by Celtic FC.
"Celtic Football Club have had a long and proud history of charitable work for the needy and underprivileged," he said.
"The money raised from this game will go towards helping the East Africa Relief Fund which has been organized through Oxfam. Playing on the night will be my old mate Gordon Strachan, Roy Keane, Teddy Sheringham, Henrik Larsson, Dwight Yorke, John Hartson and our own fabulous manager Neil Lennon, so please guys turn up, I'll be there on August the 9th, thank you very much."
