England have launched a new away strip based on their 1966 World Cup winning shirt. The red crew-necked jersey is almost identical to England's victorious strip from 44 years ago, moving away from the modern design of recent shirts.
Its first public viewing was not on former captain John Terry, instead manufacturers Umbro opted to use Leicestershire rock band Kasabian to showcase the shirt.
Singer Tom Meighan wore a replica of the shirt at a concert in Paris, describing it as an "honour".
"I'm the first person to wear it which is crazy," he told NME magazine.
"They said they wanted to take it away from the footballers for once and do something up to date.
"They wanted to combine with rock n roll. They're two powerful things. I'm honoured to wear it."
England are set to wear the kit during the friendly against African champions Egypt at Wembley on March 3.
