Manchester United are expected to snap up Rochdale teen Daniel Adshead after successful trials.
The Mirror says United are on the brink of a £1million deal to sign Adshead.
The talented 17-year-old midfielder is being watched by a number of Premier League and Championship sides after bursting onto the scene at Rochdale last season.
Adshead became Dale's youngest ever debutant, aged 16 years and 17 days, playing the full 90 minutes in the Club's Checkatrade Trophy tie against Bury last September, grabbing an assist in a 4-0 win.
And the midfielder impressed again last week starring for Rochdale in a behind-closed-doors Under-23 game at United's Carrington training complex.
A United source said: “Adshead was man of the match and head and shoulders above everyone on the pitch.
“United had a depleted side because many of their regulars are on tour in America with Jose Mourinho and the first team squad but United's staff were hugely impressed with everything the lad did."
