Robson warns Premiership clubs off Sheffield Utd's Beattie

Bryan Robson admits he may have to sell before adding to his Sheffield United squad, but insists he will not be cashing in on James Beattie.

The Blades have endured an indifferent season since relegation from the Premier League, but the form of summer signing Beattie has been a plus point.

The striker's 12 goals since his £4million move from Everton have seen the former England international linked with a return to the top flight, with Fulham, Reading and Middlesbrough all reportedly on his trail.

But Robson has fielded no offers for Beattie and the Blades boss has no intention of letting the 29-year-old leave Bramall Lane.

"Nobody has come in and offered anything for James Beattie," Robson told Sky Sports News. "As far as I'm concerned, he has had a good time at Sheffield United, he is scoring goals and working hard up front, so as far as I'm concerned he'll be staying at the club."
