Sir Bobby Robson has fired a warning at Newcastle United's new management not to neglect local talent.
With Geordie Steven Taylor still waiting to open new contract talks and Peter Ramage already on his way, Robson, at his Foundation's dinner last week, told the audience: "We have three Geordies in this room tonight who had great careers in football - Sir Bobby Charlton, Bryan Robson and myself - and yet none of us played for Newcastle.
"That has to stop. Newcastle United in the future have to pick up the best young players in the north-east."
