Robson keen on new Aberdeen deal

Barry Robson admits he would like to remain with Aberdeen past this summer.

The 35-year old midfielder joined the Dons from Sheffield United in June and has been a key part of the Pittodrie clubs rise up the Scottish Premiership.

The former Celtic, Middlesbrough and Vancouver Whitecaps man missed the first part of the campaign because of injury but has been feeling good ever since and ready to go around again in 2014/15.

"I still feel fit and fresh and I've played around 25 games and that was with an injury I had at the start of the season," Robson told the Daily Record.

"I still get about the pitch and feel I can still contribute. So why not keep going?

"It's a great club to be at. We've won a cup, there's excitement around the place. We have a good management team and great players.

"Hopefully we can sort something out. I'd love to stay and I'm sure the manager would like me to stay but there's plenty of time for that.

"It won't be hard to sort out, We've had a discussion about it. He'll tell me what I'm getting and I'll sign it. I don't have an agent.

"It's not about money. I love playing under the manager (Derek McInnes) and (assistant boss) Tony Docherty. I am massively impressed with them and I'm more than willing to stay."
