Terry Robinson has left Stoke City as director of youth development.
The club said Robinson is expected to take up a new role with a Championship club, reported to be Leicester, shortly.
"Terry has done a great job in terms of restructuring the academy and putting in place a set-up which was successful in securing Category One status, therefore ensuring we are among the elite academies in the country," said Stoke chief Tony Scholes.
"In that respect, it is disappointing to be losing a man of his considerable experience and expertise in that particular field, but he has been offered an exciting new opportunity with another club and we wish him well in that role."
