Robins quits Huddersfield after first game of season

Mark Robins has left his job at Huddersfield Town after losing their opening game of the season to Bournemouth 4-0.

After the defeat, former Manchester United striker Robins met with the club's directors and has now had his contract cancelled by mutual consent.

A club statement released by the club on Sunday morning revealed: "Following yesterday's first day defeat, Mark met with the board of directors. At the conclusion of the meeting, Mark and the directors all agreed it would be in the interests of all parties to part company.

"Accordingly, Mark's contract has ended amicably and by mutual consent."
