Mark Robins has no fears taking the Barnsley job.
The former Rotherham United manager joined Barnsley last week after difficult negotiations.
Ex-Manchester United striker Robins said: "It does not concern me how many managers have come and gone since this club were in the top flight. I do not fear this job. I relish the challenge, I am going to enjoy it - and I shall manage this club as I see fit.
"Right now, because of the lowly position in the table we are in, it would be silly to set long-term goals. My immediate aim is to get points on the board and build a bit of confidence. That is the key thing.
"But what I will say, is that I am coming into a stable, well-run club with wonderful facilities and the potential here is immense."
