AS says Robinho's agent, Wagner Ribeiro, will meet with Real officials in May to attempt to secure a new deal for the Brazilian.

However, Real management want crunch talks with Robinho to discuss the level of commitment he has to the club long-term. The winger's current deal ends in 2010 and Ribeiro failed to get a commitment from Real sports chief Pedja Mijatovic when he flew in for talks in March.

Ribeiro said: "Robinho is very happy in Madrid and wants to continue. For him, there will be no problems when we speak in May."
