Robinho loan almost complete
Submitted by Andrew Slevison on Tue, 01/26/2010 - 23:21
Brazilian club Santos have revealed that the loan deal for Manchester City’s Robinho is getting closer by the day.
Robinho is now almost certain to leave Eastlands with Santos president Luis Alvaro Ribeiro claiming a deal will be finalised by Thursday.
"I would say that the negotiations have now advanced three percentage points from the 95 per cent,” he told Arena Sporttv.
"I hope it will increase one per cent every 24 hours.
"There are a few financial and contractual details still to sort out. But we are finalising them and I think it will be this Thursday."
If a deal does go through it would be against the wishes of City boss Roberto Mancini who is keen to keep the talented attacker at the club.

what a pitty 4 'the robber' sory ROBINHO as u said it's realy a bad idea 4 him 2 join a club caled santos not knwon in d world.what a pity!ROB;it's so unfortunate u won't make it 2 d world cup.its beter u jst retire nd tink of somtin beter 2 do wit ur lyf wit d milions u've made in futbol.
Robinho.. Seriously, he exists as the Pele of this generation only in his mind. I'd feel sorry for Man City if it wasn't Man City we're talking about. Sparky didn't want to sign him, the player himself seemingly didn't expect to join (hence him saying he was pleased to sign for Chelsea on the day of him joining City) and from what I can gather from City fans I've come across since, they didn't want him to sign either. It's nice having rich owners I suppose, but wasting £32m on a player that will be loaned out having only been at the club less than 18 months is pretty bad. No big club in europe wants to go near him as he is seen as a disruptive influence in the dressing room and through the media. You're stuck with the guy, and his £100k+ per week salary. Much like Liverpool are stuck with Benitez, only with less success.
I think Mancini is playing it right. Saying he wants to keep him in the public eye, but maybe not so much privately.
