Robinho has backed Manchester City's pursuit of Benfica midfielder Ramires.

Robinho plays alongside Ramires for Brazil and believes he would become a major star here if he seals a lucrative move to City.

He said: "I am a fan of Ramires and convinced that he will go a long way.

"He is a great player and this is only his first year in Europe. He can adapt to any style and has the quality to become a star at any club."
