Jason Roberts is ready to sign a new contract with Blackburn Rovers.

The Sunday Mirror says Roberts has been offered a two-year extension to his current contract of about £30,000 a week - just months after he was ready to leave.

The former Wigan striker was prepared to quit Ewood Park in January after falling out of favour under ex-boss Mark Hughes.

But Roberts returned to the team towards the end of the season and is expected to sign a new deal to disappoint Sunderland and Bolton, who were ready to make summer bids.
