He's just hung up the boots, but former Derby County midfielder Robbie Savage is already making headlines on the other side of the globe.

The ex-Manchester United, Leicester City and Birmingham City star has been spotted on an ultra-sound scan (see right)!

The image, released to Footballfancast.com has already caught the attention of the football fans from around the globe. As you will see in the scan you can just make out the image of former player.

Father to be, Fabio Cabral, a 25 construction worker from Sao Paolo explains, "We went to the hospital for a routine scan. When the nurse came in she just said, 'I think that you should see this."

"At first we thought it was Jesus, but when the staff had a closer look we were told by our Doctor, who has followed English football for many years, that it was actually an image of former Welsh footballer Robbie Savage. It was a moment that changed their lives."

Although the Cabrals' have admitted that they didn't know who Robbie Savage was, the couple has taken his image as a good omen for the healthy future of their child.

Sarah Groarke, co-founder of FootballFanCast commented, "When we first saw the scan it really took us by surprise. I know that people have seen images of Jesus or the Virgin Mary on pieces of toast, or in fruits that have been cut in half - but Robbie Savage in a baby scan, I was utterly astounded"

Robbie Savage has enjoyed a 'colourful' career which has spanned six clubs and seen him make a total of 623 appearances. Never one to shy away from controversy he will be remembered for being a no nonsense footballer who didn't mind putting in the odd tackle or two.
