Rob Elliot is excited about his move to Newcastle United.
The former Charlton Athletic goalkeeper will kickoff his Toon career as cover for Tim Krul.
He told the Evening Chronicle: "You have to be ready, that's how I made my Charlton debut - from the bench.
"You can't be sitting there idle, you are literally just one kick or one injury away from being on the pitch, and that's what you aspire to as a kid.
"The reality of the move now is starting to kick in."
