Queensland Roar's Dutch striker Sergio van Dijk has admitted his lack of goals is becoming a problem. After another sub-standard performance against the Melbourne Victory, van Dijk is at risk of being dropped by coach Frank Farina and he knows that sharp improvement is required.

"If the coach thinks it's necessary to leave me out or put me on the bench, then he has to do it," van Dijk told the Courier Mail.

"I haven't scored for a few games and that's not good enough for me. I have to show Frank every time that I have to play.

"I'm not desperately concerned about the way I'm playing. The only thing is that scoring is a bit of a problem. I've got to make sure I don't put too much pressure on myself.

"I'm happy that we're not relying only on the strikers and that midfielders can score too.

"I just have to play my game, wait for my next chance and score, then it can turn around. It's not quite happening for me at the moment."

The Roar fans are losing patience with van Dijk but he knows that it comes with the territory of being a professional footballer.

"Of course it's not a thing that you like - you'd rather have them supporting and cheering, because in the end, the crowd could be our 12th man," van Dijk said.

"But it doesn't worry me. There are thousands of people watching and they all have their own opinion.

"I can't listen to any one of them. As a professional, you just have to block it out."
